What started out as a study project, has become a true international sensation. Thanks to their very diverse productions, remixes and their collaborations with the biggest names in the music industry, the dynamic DJ / producer duo Firebeatz (Tim Smulders and Jurre van Doeselaar) has reached millions of people around the world. Firebeatz has become a respected name within the dance-scene.

Over ten years ago, when they both producers were still students at the School of Arts’ Rock Academy in Tilburg, the Netherlands, their instructor assigned the boys a project: create a track together. It became an instant hit that marked the beginning of their music career. Tim and Jurre haven’t stopped working together ever since. Even though they quickly became more and more successful, they both continued their studies and graduated with flying colors after completing their thesis: working out a plan to get Firebeatz at the top.

The major international breakthrough came in 2012 when BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong embraced Just One More Time Baby, a track that resulted from their collaboration with Chocolate Puma. That same year, the duo released Beatport sensation Dear New York. There was no denying that Firebeatz had become wildly successful. For several consecutive years, Firebeatz has been in DJ Mag’s ranking of the 100 top DJs. Their Ignite radio show is broadcasted on 46 different radio stations in more than 20 different countries. Meanwhile, they keep touring around the world, bringing their high-energy sound to the United States, Mexico, Brazil, China, Dubai, Nicaragua, Honduras, Chile, Japan and Australia.

Firebeatz knows how to surprise the audience and get people dancing with their amazing live shows. Whether they’re performing on Electric Daisy Carnival’s main stage in Las Vegas, at Tomorrowland in Belgium, Ultra Music Festival in Miami or during the annual Amsterdam Dance Event, Firebeatz has made crowds of 20,000, 40,000 or even 70,000 people go wild. These boys were born to be on the main stage.

Although their busy international tour schedule can make it difficult for the two to spend time in the studio, once they start producing together, they don’t stop. Their distinct qualities complement each other perfectly when creating new tracks, a thing that becomes clear when taking a look at the surefire hits they’ve come up with. Not just their original music, but also remixes of tracks by celebrated artists from different genres have made it to the top charts. We’re talking stars such as Rihanna, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Snoop Dogg, James Blunt and Sean Paul. Not to mention the worldwide attention their collabs with Calvin Harris, Tiesto and Martin Garrix are getting. As Calvin Harris said in an interview: “Right now, Firebeatz is in my top five of dance producers. They have many original ideas and a unique understanding of groove and dynamics that I love.”
