The beginnings of the festival sprouted on the dance floor of the famous Birmingham Air Club at the turn of the decades. Opened in 2000 as CODE, the club subsequently changed its name to Air and became one of the most commercially successful clubs in Britain. However, clubs were clubs, and the British soul, who still remembers large-scale raves in the open air, wanted something else.
One well-known English group, Angel Music Group, has set about trying to transfer dance music from indoor clubs to an open huge venue. This idea was supported by many DJs and amateurs. The first concert was held in the open air at the airport in Stratford. The opening was attended by such groups as: Armin, Ferry Corsten and Tiesto. The main event was the performance of Paul Oakenfold.
And for more than 10 years, the festival has been conquering more and more cities, thereby collecting more and more club music lovers. Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Las Vegas and Miami (USA), Minsk (Belarus), Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane (Australia), Poznan (Poland), Istanbul (Turkey), Kiev (Ukraine), Seoul (South Korea), St. Petersburg (Russia) - this is an incomplete list of cities where Global Gathering was held.

A colored dance floor was organized at the festival, where visitors could dance, while throwing at each other with washcloths and paints. Fun and bright, somewhat childish, the fun was to the liking of a large audience, adding color, both to the body and to the mood of the participants. There was also a foamy dance floor at the festival, which has been popular with visitors for several years. Many festival guests truly enjoyed dancing under the foamy waterfall, throwing foam.
